Satis sum Art and Wellbeing
Teia Peters - Satis sum Art was created in October 2020 when I finally decided to take seriously what I always loved: visual arts. The Instagram page started as a conduit to connect to people who share this love, and like me, believe that art is transformative, in the sense that it reflects back to us who we are, in our essence, so we can understand it or work on it; be it on an individual level, or collectively. Facilitating this connection is the artist's way to help make this world a better place. From there, I decided to use my other passions: yoga, mindfulness meditation and dance together with the art to create awareness of the importance of self-knowledge to reach inner peace, compassion, and understanding of who we are and why we are here.

My story
I find it easier to express myself through textures, images, shapes, movements and forms, than writing. So I will keep this short!.
I was born in Brazil into a German family. I grew up in a small town, playing with animals, exploring nature and my family's shoemaker's workshop. I have been painting and taking photographs for most of my life, but I never studied arts formally. My highest degree is in Philosophy, where, despite being dyslexic, I fell in love with the world of ideas and the search for understanding of our meaning in this existence. I also studied aesthetics, the history of art and psychology. I guess this baggage helps me to make a bit of sense when I'm conceptualizing my work.
I have been living in England for over twenty years working in education and producing art as a way of understanding myself and keeping in touch with my soul. To me, art is the only way of saying the unsayable, especially in a society where you are not encouraged to show your weakness, fears and discontents.
Now, after the lockdown, were I dedicated myself on studding and practicing the abstract art, specially abstract expressionism, I finally reached a degree of maturity in my work that I'm happy to share.
Enjoy!
About the paintings, I work both on paper and wooden boards (treated MDF). I love exploring different materials, from watercolors, oil and acrylic paint, to normal and textured spray paint, solder, cement, sand, salt, resin, plaster ... etc
As an extension of my work, I am now offering workshops in Abstract Art; Mindfulness and Meditation; Yoga; Ecstatic Dance; Reconnecting with Your Inner Self - a journey to self-discovery and wellness - which involves a mix of activities with art, movement, meditation and storytelling.
The workshops can be mixed and tailored to the client's requirements.
They are a result of my own personal experience and practices, together with the training I have done in those areas. Please check :
