ECSTATIC DANCE CAMBRIDGE New website!!!! To find information for the next events, go to: www.cambrigeecstatic.dance Ecstatic Dance A free-form dance practice facilitating deep embodied connection and emotional expression to an eclectic musical mix. This is a held, intentional space, so there will be certain guidelines to follow - see below. There will be invitations to engage in various ways, but the choice of how you move is always yours. Listen to your inner knowing and do what feels right for you. Our aim is to offer a space that helps us step into freedom. The music will follow a wave, building in intensity, then falling again, gently flowing into the next phase of the event. Sound Journey This guided meditation will relax our bodies as we drift through ambient soundscapes, giving space to let the experience of the dance sink in. You will be invited to lie down, close your eyes and drop into yourself. After gentle guidance back into the space, we will rise out of the meditation into the final phase of the event. DJ Sets The rest of the event will be a more casual atmosphere with relaxed guidelines. Socialise, dance, chill out, and enjoy the music through our top-notch sound system. We will open another room with seating and some refreshments provided, but feel free to bring your own. Donations to cover costs are welcome! Ecstatic Dance Guidelines Be here: no outside shoes. Be free: dance how you want / no judgement. Be present: no phones and no unauthorised filming or photography. Be embodied: no talking during the dance journey. Be clear: no alcohol or drugs. Be consensual: respect and honour boundaries of yourself and others - if it's not a clear “YES”, everything else must be considered a “NO”. What to bring Blanket or extra layers for the sound journey. Your body will cool down a lot in this time! A yoga mat or something to lie on. Snacks and drinks for the social time. Cash donations for refreshments. Filming We will be making some recordings of the event for marketing purposes. If you wish for your images not to be used, please speak to a member of the team after the event. Cancellation Policy We do not offer refunds if you cannot attend, but you are welcome to pass on your ticket. The recipient can simply give your name at the door upon arrival. If we need to cancel the session due to unforeseen circumstances, we will issue a full refund. Please note this is a strictly sober event for ages 18+
